Finance intelligence for UK businesses
Finance intelligence. Built by finance people who write the code.
Profitcura is a UK FP&A and business intelligence consultancy with its own products. We build the forecasts, dashboards, data pipelines and AI workflows finance teams run on, and we understand the numbers because we have owned them.
What we do
Five services. One through line.
The person who designs the finance logic is the person who builds it. Start wherever the pain is; each service makes the next one easier.
FP&A and XP&A
Budgeting, rolling forecasts, driver-based models and board reporting, delivered as a fractional FP&A function. Extended into XP&A so sales, operations and people plans tie back to one set of numbers.

Power BI and custom dashboards for finance: management reporting, semantic models and the data engineering beneath them. Reporting that reconciles to the ledger and refreshes without anyone re-keying a number.

MRR, ARR, churn, cohorts, retention forecasting and revenue recognition, built from invoice-level data. Investor-ready subscription metrics that reconcile to the ledger, and the foundation for our Revenue Intelligence platform.

ETL and system integration for finance, automated reconciliations and a month-end that runs on pipelines rather than people. The data foundation that makes reporting, planning and AI possible.
Explore Finance automation and data engineeringAI for finance
LLM and agent automation of finance workflows, from document capture and transaction coding to variance commentary and client queries, built with governance and human review. The differentiator behind everything we do.

A finance background that builds the technology.
We have closed the books, built the board pack and sat through the audit. Then we built the software. That combination is the one thing competitors cannot copy.
Our flagship product
Revenue intelligence for subscription businesses.
Invoice-level revenue recognition, lifecycle classification and churn forecasting you can defend to a board. Patent pending, pilot programme open.
Every movement, explained.
Opening to closing MRR, classified from invoice lines rather than totalled from a billing export.

Invoice-level revenue recognition
Every invoice line is matched to its service period and recognition schedule. Deferred revenue, recognised revenue and the movements between them are calculated by period and reconciled to the billing system and the ledger, replacing the monthly spreadsheet.
Customer lifecycle classification
Each customer is classified at each point in time: new, expanding, stable, contracting, at risk, churned, reactivated. The classification is derived from invoice behaviour, tenure and plan, so MRR movements are explained rather than just totalled.
Multidimensional churn and retention forecasting
Retention is forecast by cohort, segment, plan and lifecycle stage rather than by one blended rate. The result is an MRR forecast that reflects how your customers actually behave, and an early view of where retention risk is concentrated.
Patent pending. Figures in the workspace are illustrative. The platform does not give accounting advice; your accountant signs off the numbers.

Sectors we know from the inside.

Principles
Built to do the work. Honest about what is ready.
The numbers have to reconcile
Every model, dashboard and pipeline ties back to the ledger and proves it on every refresh. If it does not reconcile, it is not finished.
Specifics beat adjectives
We talk about systems, metrics and outcomes: Xero, Power BI, MRR, days to close. We avoid claims we cannot show you.
You own what we build
Models, code, documentation and data live in your tenant and your repositories. We are easy to keep and easy to leave.
Software should be boring
Well tested, well logged, well documented and running quietly for years. Novelty is for the problem, not the plumbing.
Honest about what is not ready
Patent pending, not patented. Pilot, not product, until it has earned the word. Finance buyers notice the difference.
Finance first, then the technology
We have closed the books, built the board pack and sat through the audit. The technology exists to make that work right.
Insights
Ideas worth taking forward.
Practical writing on planning, reporting, subscription metrics, automation and AI in finance.
What does outsourced FP&A actually include?
A plain-English guide to what an outsourced or fractional FP&A service covers, what it costs relative to hiring, and how to tell whether your business is ready for it.
How to forecast MRR when churn is lumpy
A single blended churn rate hides more than it shows. How to forecast subscription revenue from cohorts, segments and lifecycle stages so the forecast explains itself.
The five numbers every finance dashboard needs, and how to build them in Power BI
Most finance dashboards show too much and prove too little. Here are the five measures a board actually uses, and how to model them in Power BI so they reconcile to the accounts.
FAQ
Good questions, straight answers.
What does Profitcura actually do?
Two things that reinforce each other. We are a finance technology consultancy: FP&A and planning, Power BI reporting, SaaS and subscription analytics, finance automation and AI for finance workflows. And we build products: Profitcura Revenue Intelligence, a patent-pending subscription analytics platform, and Subready, AI bookkeeping for CIS subcontractors.
Are you a consultancy or a software company?
Both, on purpose. The consultancy keeps us close to real finance problems. The products hold us to a product company's standard of engineering. Clients get finance thinking and working software from the same people.
Which systems do you work with?
Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dynamics 365 Business Central and NetSuite on the accounting side; Stripe, Chargebee and Recurly for billing; HubSpot and Salesforce for CRM; Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Python and SQL for the build. If a system has an API or a database, we can connect to it.
How does an engagement start?
With a short conversation, then a discovery of one to three weeks that ends with a fixed scope and price for the first phase. Most clients see working software within the first month.
How do you charge?
Fixed price for defined projects, a retained monthly fee for fractional FP&A and ongoing support, and pilot terms for the Revenue Intelligence platform. We will tell you plainly if we think a simpler tool or a hire would serve you better.
Let's talk
Your finance stack should work as hard as your finance team.
A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we can help and what it would involve. No pitch deck, no obligation.
